A defense and expansion upon the furlong as a measurement standard.
Wherein a method is described for extracting some interesting data from your local sun appearance - or disappearance.
A far out measurement standard based in space.
Thanks to Isaac Asimov
I must make an acknowledgement here that the late Isaac Asimov's writing certainly influenced a lot of my scientific orientation over the years. I recently discovered that he wrote over 1,600 science shorts for publication in various magazines. I read far less than 100 of these in such collection books as "Only a Trillion" and "Adding a Dimension."
In re-reading some of these collections recently I realized that I had copied some of Asimov's humor and attitude into my own writing. The sincerest form of flattery, they say.
I am saved from any form of plagiarism, however, by the simple fact that Asimov would never have stooped to using my specious arguments to get his point across. He was a well-trained scientist.

The items below are...

Speed and Awareness
This is a spectra of what can sense what based on speed. The snail in the furlong page reminded me that I had collected these concepts a few years back.
Oooo, then there's The Time of Your Life... still a WIP
And This'll Kill You!, yeah still working on that, too. Keep expanding, then reading for more background, then interruptions.
