Which Jim Jardine am I?
Well before the advent of e-mail, web searches and the like I was a
locator/buyer of electronic parts. Several times a year I would have someone ask me
if I was related to a Jardine they knew. Now, with e-mail I have had several
people asking if I was the Jim Jardine they had known.
So I thought it would be appropriate and kind to people who venture onto
this site to know some of my history, thus eliminating me from their list of potentials.
The strange thing about this name is that there are so many of us.
Jardine is a border-clan Scottish name originating generally around the Dumfries area of
Scotland. But my father's foster parents, James G. and Margarette Jardine were
originally from Edinburgh. I was the first born in our family with the Jardine
surname. My son, James Martin Stuart Jardine carries on this adoptive name.
My true paternal grandfather was Robert King.
