And finally, the Saturday night Old Timers Night, thanks to Polly (Etheridge) Stonich |

The Photo Album Of course a lot of other people took
pictures and many of them sent them to the Committee and they are all displayed
below. The pictures have all been cropped, enhanced and reduced to a
six-inch width so they can possibly be printed out on your home printer. These are organized by the sender's
name. From here on clicking on the thumbnails will give you a printable size picture in
a new browser window.
Don Houser Don took the time to caption each of his photos.
See pictures of this event in the photos above.
Louie and Joan (Hughes) Madsen invited us to their "Joan's Farm & Pumpkin Patch" and Madsen's Hereford Ranch, for Saturday brunch. This was a treat for all who attended. It was a great fall setting, and their ranch is close to many wineries and many people went wine tasting later
The Madsens have built a wonderful place for youngsters to get a taste of farm life during the pumpkin season. Hundreds of beautiful pumpkins and a well-designed farm and old west environment have pleased people for 20 years.
How can you build a tourist-like business 'way out on Mines Road? There's still not too many people taking the old Mines Road shortcut to San Jose - by way of Mt. Hamliton! But when the Del Valle Reservoir was built in the 60s the recreational access entrance was brought out to the Mines Road end of the lake, and opportunity struck the Madsens like a runaway bulldozer.
Over the years Joan's Pumpkin Patch (and Lou's barbeques) have become famous.
See pictures of this event in the photos above.
Polly (Etheridge) Stonich has been doing an any-year reunion off and on for several years. This year was one of them, and it was the day after our Reunion. Here are the details:
"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing"
We know that most people aren't worried about this: we paid what we assumed was a price calculated to cover all costs while giving our classmates a nice event. But we do want to tell you that all expenses were - indeed - covered and then some. Our treasurer, Nina Radisch sent this e-mail:
Jim,
Would you please send an e-mail to our Reunion Committee for me telling
them that our class donated $250. to the Student Education Loan Fund in
Livermore?
Thanks. Our account is now closed.
Nina
The Student Education Loan Fund provides interest-free loans to Livermore residents or graduates of its high schools to support college or other career training expenses. We hope that our small contribution will aid some current or future student of our true alma mater.
